How the zone system works
Instead of a single "downtown vs. beach" price, Tulum is now mapped into 24 zones covering the Pueblo (town center), Aldea Zama, La Veleta, the Zona Arqueologica, and the coastal road down to Tulum's beach clubs. Each taxi carries a chart showing the fare from its zone of origin to all 23 others, so you can check the price for your destination before you get in.

The Instituto de Movilidad de Quintana Roo (Imoveqroo) - the state authority that legally sets and publishes public transport fares - has not yet confirmed or published this exact tabulator as government-approved.
